On the 10th of July, 1902 a group
of men from the F.O.E. Aerie #66 formed an idea that they would like
to have a place to take their families and children for recreational
purposes. A charter was granted through the Berks County Courts
on August 11, 1902 to this core group of members for the purpose of
operating a club for social enjoyment and the maintenance of a private
park for the encouragement of outdoor recreation and athletic sports.
In 1987, the Eagles'
Mountain Home Association began its merger with the Reading Liederkranz,
with the Reading Liederkranz purchasing all assests in 1989 and formally
taking over the operation of the facility in September, 1990.
Since that date we
have operated as a social club with a number of activities and events.
Today we are continuing the Eagles' Mountain Home Association's long-standing
tradition of trying to serve our membership in a social way.
